1. Lupin (2021) – Seasons 1-2

Summary: Inspired by the adventures of Arsène Lupin, gentleman thief Assane Diop sets out to avenge his father for an injustice inflicted by a wealthy family. (from IMDb)
My Thoughts: What I love about this show is how much Assane and his friend Ben has everything planned out and through flashbacks you’re like wow, because it’s amazing how every detail is planned. Lupin is clever, brilliant, exciting, thrilling, fun, and a must watch. Lupin is clever, brilliant, exciting, thrilling, fun, and a must watch, and has its funny moments. The show is funny and also has some drama. Ginny & Georgia is an entertaining, fun, sometimes frustrating, but definitely a binge worthy show. I’m ready for season 2.

4. WandaVision (2021) – Season 1

Summary: Blends the style of classic sitcoms with the MCU, in which Wanda Maximoff and Vision – two super-powered beings living their ideal suburban lives – begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems. (from IMDb)
My Thoughts: The cast did amazing, especially the performances of Teyonah Parris, and Kathryn Hahn. And let’s not forget Kat Dennings and Randall Park who added some humor to the show. The show’s Easter eggs were fun and exciting to see as well. WandaVision is strange, delightful, mysterious, creative, intriguing and it reshaped our expectations on what to expect from the future MCU.

5. Midnight Mass (2021) – Season 1

Summary: An isolated island community experiences miraculous events – and frightening omens – after the arrival of a charismatic, mysterious young priest. (from IMDb)
My Thoughts: This show is a slow burn but it works in the favor of the show and I think that it’s beneficial for how the plot unravels. Some of the themes in this show are faith, religion, forgiveness and the themes are explored very well. The horror elements in this show were more so the dangers of religious fanaticism. Midnight Mass is suspenseful, tense, brilliant, well written and one of the best shows of the year.

Summary: Hundreds of cash-strapped players accept a strange invitation to compete in children’s games. Inside, a tempting prize awaits with deadly high stakes. A survival game that has a whopping 45.6 billion-won prize at stake. (from IMDb)

Watching over them during this 10-day retreat is the resort’s director, Masha, a woman on a mission to reinvigorate their tired minds and bodies. However, these nine “perfect” strangers have no idea what is about to hit them. (from Rotten Tomatoes)
My Thoughts: The characters are all fascinating and are broken in different ways where you get pretty invested in them. Watching this show you don’t know how it will play out; does this retreat entails something sinister, innocent or will everything be fine. Nine Perfect Strangers is a well acted, engaging, binge worthy, and fun mystery thriller with an intriguing plot and is an interesting ride.

Chucky is still that doll that makes you laugh and his love for killing is the same… He also gives us some wild kills this season. The Chucky series is funny, engaging, entertaining, fresh, and fun. Happy New Year! 🥳
I’ve seen most of the tv-shows on this list and they are all a must-watch! I’m not a big Marvel fan but WandaVision was amazing with great storytelling and acting.
And of course, Squid Game is on this list cause that was one well-acted and well-written show! So glad foreign-language shows are getting more attention and I’m looking forward to what they do with season 2. 🙌🏾
Midnight Mass was also great, especially how they tackled religion. Mike Flanagan never disappoints!
Some entertaining shows I enjoyed this year were “Resident Alien” and “The Sex Lives of College Girls” which recently came out.
I’m excited to see the films and tv-shows that 2022 has to offer!
