It’s l968 in America. Review By Me

As much as I love horror movies, I wasn’t aware of the movie Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark until a few months ago; Not only that, I did not know the movie was based off a book (which I bought a few days ago). I went to Books A Million, and let me tell you, I spent a good 15 minutes in the horror section trying to find the book, so I went to the website and saw that it was listed as a children’s book, and of course I found it in that section. A few days ago, I finished reading the book and I enjoyed it. The stories in each chapter were spooky, entertaining, and short. I wish they were longer. Scary Stories is a good film, I liked the fact that the main character, Stella was a huge fan of horror movies, like me so that was pretty cool. Her love of horror and of course being that it is Halloween time, Stella and her friends headed off to the haunted Bellows house and it spirals from there. The cast did a good job in portraying their characters. After exploring the Bellows House, the teenage friends awakens a “curse” and at first Stella’s friends do not believe, but after their friend Auggie is missing, they know they must try and stop what is happening before they all disappear. Two of the stories that I read in the book, were in the movie: “The Big Toe” and “Me Tie Doughty Walker”. The creatures were creepy, especially the way they looked. The visual effects were great, especially The Pale Lady and The Jangly Man, these two looked the creepiest in the movie. Even though Sarah Bellows was seen as the villain, in honesty she was just a victim, and it was a shame what her family had done to her. For any teenager or preteen that is a horror fan this movie I think is appropriate to see. It’s not over the top scary; It’s creepy and fun, and I would recommend any horror fan to watch it. I enjoyed the stories that I read so I’m hoping for possibly more movie sequels to be released in the future.
